In-Season Email, Texting, and Phone Call Policies
Check Email DAILY
Students MUST check email DAILY during the season. It is the most efficient means of getting information out to our large group. Emails communicate team business, schedule changes, team needs, and opportunities to expand your lacrosse skills. Always send me an email to notify me of excused or unexcused absences, even if you tell me at practice. Also, email is a great way to ask me a simple question that requires a short answer. Otherwise, let's make arrangements to talk after or before practice or at an arranged time.
Texting
I love texting. It's a perfect way to let me know when you are late for any reason. My phone always lights up while I'm driving to practice or talking to other students before practice and, unfortunately, I am not able to address your texts at these times. If you are running late or encounter a problem I do want to get a text from you, but please be short and specific, so I can read it and know where you are. And please do not expect me to return the text or call UNLESS it is an EMERGENCY.
Phone Calls
Students are always welcome to call me outside of the times right before, during, and after practices and games. If it is an emergency and I can help, please do not hesitate to call. Personal meetings and phone calls are the preferred way for students to bring up and discuss concerns, issues, personal goals, college aspirations, suggestions for making the team better, etc. Also to request a letter of recommendation, or to make arrangements for a face to face meeting.
Remember: Being informed during the season is as easy as looking at this web site, listening to the school announcements, and asking questions of your captains and teammates. Don't pay attention to rumors, and be sure to find a captain if you're not sure what to believe. Captains will find out the answer if they do not already know, and they will get back to you.
